LIVING THE ABUNDANT LIFE: “GETTING TO THE HEART OF THE MATTER”
Updated: Oct 21, 2021
The ‘heart’ of this Living the Abundant Life Programme, is what I have decided to call “The TDA Strategic Plan”. a 5-step plan for personal empowerment and growth. This programme is for everyone… no matter the age or gender!
It requires first of all that YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE NOW.
STEP 1: SELF-ASSESSMENT.
This is not to be confused with a Self-Analysis. You are simply describing things as they are now with you. Who are you? What are the realities of your life? – as an individual… as a member of a family, professionally, socially?
The purpose is to take a careful look at yourself, where you are NOW, in order to assess aspects that are important to your identity. It is an important first step in ‘The TDA Strategic Plan’.

DESCRIBE WHO YOU ARE NOW: -Your name, where you live…
YOUR FAMILY STRUCTURE, (mother, father, brothers, sisters, and other relatives with whom you have, or should have, close contact or with. Marital status is important; single, with a significant ‘other’, or as part of married couple… whether there are children and their ages; in the early, middle or “Empty nester” stage of that union. All of this is important as it determines your lifestyle, who you are and your life commitments.
YOUR WORK/PROFESSIONAL STATUS: Do you have a job? If not, are you seeking one? What is your profession? How satisfied/dissatisfied you are with your current status professionally? How do you see yourself in this context for the future? Do you have ambitions to excel to a higher position within your profession? Do you have alternate interests?
YOUR SOCIAL STATUS; How do others see you? Friendly and smiling? Always helpful and unselfish? Sarcastic, lacking in social skills, humble, prideful? The list of possibilities is endless! Be truthful with yourself.
USING THESE GUIDELINES, WRITE A PARAGRAPH THAT YOU BELIEVE ACCURATELY DESCRIBES YOU NOW!
This process of Self-Assessment may be a painful one. Nonetheless, give focus on the facts as they are. Perhaps you have passed middle-age, and are discouraged by the fact that you are nowhere you would like to be. If so, consider the thoughts expressed by Israelmore Ayivor, who states:

“The only way to make a spoilt machine work again is to break it down, work on its inner system and fix it again. Screw out the bolts of your life, examine and work on yourself, fix your life again and get going.”
Don’t be discouraged about where you are NOW. If the picture you see is not where you want to be, the important thing to realize is that you are about to do something about it.
Be encouraged by the words of Marianne Williamson in her “Tears to Triumph: The Spiritual Journey from Suffering to Enlightenment”, which says in part:
“We only get rid of darkness by turning on the light.”
THINK ABUNDANTLY & GET READY TO DREAM… ABUNDANTLY!
